Time and Investment

When you hear the word investment you probably think of investing money. For the most part I think we all do; this world is after-all driven by the almighty dollar. As a human being in society I think of investment as money, but as an artist I think of investment as time. Being an artist means investing your time, money and passion into your chosen art form.

As my art continues to grow and expand into new directions, I am faced more and more with the decision of where to invest my time. I often have multiple concepts that I would like to photograph, but there are only so many hours in a day. As a family man and as a regular guy with a 9 to 5 job, the majority of my time is spent at work and with my family. I often to have to make the tough decision of which project to pursue and when to call it quits.

Early in my art career, I had previously been obsessed with only the monetary investment with my art. As I get older I have come to realize that it’s not necessarily about the equipment that you have, it’s time and experience that help you progress as an artist. You can always get more money, the pay checks will continue to come as long as you work. Time though is finite, as such I think that this should take a higher precedence. The more time you put in, the more practice you have, the more you experiment and push your boundaries, the more you will excel.

With that being said I would like to welcome you to my new site! This is a project that took a lot of time and was a personal learning experience. I have even added a shop so now 8×10 unlimited prints as well as framed limited edition prints can be purchased and mailed right to your door step.

You will also find two new projects that I am currently working on “Torrential: The Downpour” and “Grace: The Fallen” these series, you can expect to see additions to these in the upcoming weeks along with other projects that I hope to be starting.
